Wellbeing Points Program

Participate in the University Wellbeing Program. On Oct. 1, 2017, start earning wellness points to reduce the cost of your 2018 medical plan premium. Take the wellness assessment by Aug. 31, 2018 to earn 150 points. It takes 10-15 minutes, and you can take it during your work day. Add another 150 points if your covered spouse takes the assessment.

Why Choose an accountable care organization (ACO) Plan?

In an ACO, Medica and the provider network work together to deliver a new level of service: seamless health care, coverage, information and support. If you find the "extras" in care and service support valuable or want to save money, an ACO might be right for you.

Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Plan and Network Options News

Medica CompleteHealth
Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, the Medica with Mayo Clinic Health System ACO will be transitioning to a new name: Medica CompleteHealth (featuring care at Mayo Clinic). You’ll see the new Medica CompleteHealth name in your 2018 benefit plan options.

VantagePlus with Medica
If you’re currently enrolled in Fairview and North Memorial Vantage with Medica ACO or Inspiration Health by HealthEast with Medica ACO, new health care providers are joining your plan to give you an even better experience. This expanded plan, called VantagePlus with Medica, will include the providers you know and trust from Fairview, HealthEast, North Memorial and many popular independent clinics including Boynton Health and University of Minnesota Physicians.

If you are currently enrolled in the Fairview and North Memorial Vantage with Medica ACO or Inspiration Health by HealthEast with Medica ACO and plan to stay in the new ACO for the 2018 plan year, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the VantagePlus with Medica ACO. Shortly before your new plan year starts, we’ll send you an ID card and the information you need to make the most of your new plan.

Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Plan

Accountable care organization network.
The accountable care organization (ACO) plan offers unique networks of providers in your area. In an ACO, Medica and the provider network work together to deliver a new level of service: seamless health care, coverage, information and support.

Medica Elect/Essential

Base plan for Twin Cities area and Duluth.
Care system network.
This is the low-cost base plan option. Providers in the Medica Elect® / Medica EssentialSM network are grouped into care systems. At the time of enrollment you will select a network primary care clinic from which you will receive regular care.

Medica Choice Regional

Base plan for Greater Minnesota, including Morris, Crookston and Rochester.
Regional network.

This is the low-cost base plan option for regional employees. This network offers open access to many physicians and hospitals. No referrals are necessary.

Medica Choice National

National network.
If you select this plan, you will have open access to more than 659,000 physicians and more than 5,100 hospitals. No referrals are necessary.

Medica Choice HSA

National network.
This health savings account (HSA) plan allows you to save money in a bank account for current or future medical expenses while enjoying access to a large national network.
